Introduction: A3’s are staples of the Lean toolbox for knowledge workers. An A3 is literally a large piece of paper (two letter-size pieces of paper joined vertically in size) on which you plan your project. The paper is divided into sections and each section contains the nuggets of information that, together, form the entire project. An A3 provides a frameword and understanding of everything from why you are doing the project to how to roll it out. It is a compact, extremely effective way of establishing the various project elements and boundries.
